The waiting period is usually three to six calendar months, depending on the plan you choose.  Employees get an email about two months after their hire date to select a plan. Returning employees typically do not need to serve a new waiting period if rehired within five years. There is no waiting period to participate in the 博彩网站 voluntary retirement plans.

How long does it take to be fully vested in 博彩网站 retirement plans?

Once you become fully vested, you own 100% of your retirement benefits.

401(a) University Pension Plan (UPP): Employees are fully vested after three years of service or when they turn 50, whichever comes first.

Oregon Public Service Retirement Plan (OPSRP): Employees are fully vested when they meet one of these:

  • Work at least 600 hours in at least five calendar years. Any gap in PERS-eligible employment must be less than five years for prior vesting credit to continue upon rehire.
  • Participate in OPSRP on or after their 65th birthday.
