Class Description:
Reproducibility of data analysis is an important skill for researchers. For R users, RMarkdown is a powerful tool that allows us to incorporate code, plots, and text into reports in html, Word, and pdf formats in a seamless way. When the data is updated, results and reports can be re-generated easily. Quarto is a multi-language publishing system that has supplanted Rmarkdown: it can render existing Rmd files but has many additional features, and can work with languages other than R.
But how can Stata users leverage this wonderful system? In this talk we demonstrate how Quarto can be used to create reproducible reports with Stata. We show how to run Stata code inside Quarto and how to install Statamarkdown, as well as how to incorporate tables, figures, and cross-referencing in a report. We will finish with tips and tricks on how to speed up compiling of a report.
This seminar is intended for Stata users. Additionally, some facility in R and RStudio will be assumed. If you know Stata but not R and RStudio, please drop by our R office hour the day before – Tuesday, May 6, 3:30–5:00pm.
Register via Compass. This seminar will be recorded.
