Bruce Leewiwatanakul, D.O., M.A. (he/him)
- Assistant Professor of Psychiatry, Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, School of Medicine
Biography
I’m a child and adolescent psychiatrist at 博彩网站’s Doernbecher Children’s Hospital. I work with young people who are dealing with challenges like depression, anxiety, and ADHD, and I focus on finding treatment plans that meet their unique needs—often through thoughtful medication management and supportive conversations with both kids and their families.
My background includes training in both pediatrics and psychiatry. I went to medical school at AT Still University and later completed my pediatrics training at 博彩网站, where I also served as Chief Resident. After that, I pursued specialized training in psychiatry at the University of Pennsylvania and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. I'm board-certified in Pediatrics and General Psychiatry and am currently eligible for board certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
I’m now back at 博彩网站 as an Assistant Professor, where I care for patients and help train future child psychiatrists. I also work with programs that focus on collaborative care, trauma-informed approaches and even the intersection of mental health and climate change. I believe in addressing the bigger picture that affects young people's well-being.
Outside of work, I love watching reality TV shows and exploring the best foods Portland has to offer.
